  8.  AB    OBJECTIVE: Since the first descriptions of Acquired immunodeficiency
  9.        syndrome (AIDS) in 1981, the infection has been characterized as having
  10.        significant oral manifestation in adult patient. But, we have less of
  11.        these cases in Japan than in U.S.A. Therefore we present some cases of
  12.        significant oral manifestation in Japanese. METHOD: The cases were Human
  13.        immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or AIDS patients who visited Komagome
  14.        Hospital. The clinical findings were exhibited by photograph. RESULT: We
  15.        observed candidiasis, hairy leukoplakia, angular cheilitis and other
  16.        symptoms with HIV and AIDS patients in our dental department. DISCUSSION
  17.        AND CONCLUSION: HIV related oral candidiasis, hairy leukoplakia and
  18.        other significant oral manifestation affects approximately many
  19.        HIV-seropositive patients and almost patients with AIDS. We also
  20.        recognized oral manifestation precisely with HIV and AIDS patients in
  21.        Japanese.
